 Products & Programs…

Always on the look out for superior products and programs that are engaging and evidence-based, here are a few of my favorites…

Handwriting Without Tears - Books, Workshops, Wet-Dry-Try iPad app, and more.

Learning Ally - Highlighted text and human narrated audiobooks. Almost every imaginable book (including textbooks) are available.

CalmConnect - Used in over 10,000 school districts (& homes), these 3-5 min video sequences combine music, movement, and images to calm the mind and body in order to support emotional regulation and increase collaborative behavior. This powerful program may not be about reading but it certainly primes the brain for learning and promotes well-being! Available via digital streaming.

Moving Words Writing Clinic -Seattle based. The writing clinics are designed to have students connect to their opinions, desires, and words. They will learn writing techniques that fill pages, revision strategies that hone clarity and depth, and editing skills that make every word count. Most importantly, writers will learn to trust themselves and discover they can express their genius.

SIPPS Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words. Using this program in small intervention groups (Grades 1-5), I’m impressed with the level of engagement, and how the predictability of the program creates a safe student-centered environment.

Sonday System *I don’t have first hand experience with the Sonday System but this Orton-Gillingham based program comes highly recommended. I had the good fortune to meet the creator, Arlene Sonday, at IDA 2019. Accredited by the International Multi-sensory Structured Language Council (IMSLEC)
